The University of Zagreb University Computing Centre (SRCE)
The University of Zagreb University Computing Centre (SRCE) is the main national e-infrastructure and service provider for the research and higher education system in Croatia. SRCE has a long-standing tradition in the field of information and communication technologies. It was founded in 1971 to enhance the implementation of information technologies in the academic community and in Croatia in general.
Today, SRCE provides a modern, sustainable, and reliable e-infrastructure for the academic and scientific community. Its services include computing and storage resources, advanced computing, identity management, repository and open access infrastructure, key information systems, and support for digital education.
SRCE is also the competence centre for information and communication technologies (e.g. Croatian Competence Centre for High Performance Computing) as well as the centre for education and support in the area of ICT applications.

From its beginnings, SRCE has been recognised as an important factor in the development of open science at the national level, mainly through the provision of national services, as well as through the promotion of open science and the delivery of training programs. In addition, as a mandated member of EOSC, SRCE coordinates EOSC-related and open science activities in Croatia.
SRCE provides several services focused on the preservation and sharing of research outputs. These include the national infrastructure for digital repositories DABAR, the Portal of Croatian scientific and professional OA journals, and the File storage and sharing service.
A significant part of the activities in SRCE are related to international programs and initiatives. SRCE is a member of many international associations (e.g. Research Data Alliance as a national node) with experts who participate in many international institutions and bodies, having leading roles in some cases. In 2025, SRCE will participate in more than 10 projects.
