Starting in February 2026, we are launching a series of webinars to showcase the digital research infrastructure projects and communities in the UK and beyond in collaboration with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). Join us to learn about state-of-the-art initiatives that aim to advance research tools and techniques, foster collaboration and data sharing, and accelerate discoveries across a range of academic disciplines and sectors. And if you work on a research infrastructure project and are interested in being a guest speaker, please email us at info@dcc.ac.uk!

Elixir UK

ELIXIR UK is the United Kingdom’s national Node of ELIXIR, the European infrastructure for bioscience data. They are a distributed research infrastructure and a collaborative network, bringing together leading UK research-performing organisations and the people behind them.

About our guest speaker

Xènia Pérez Sitjà is the Deputy Coordinator and Stakeholder Engagement Lead at ELIXIR UK, where she coordinates activities across a national network of 29 research organisations, aligning people, projects, and funding to support data stewardship and FAIR data practices. Her background combines biomedicine (BSc) and science communication (MSc), along with experience in both the public and private sectors. She is particularly motivated to support those who build and maintain research infrastructure, to create conditions for collaboration, reuse, and sustainable open science, and to translate FAIR principles into practical implementations across UK research organisations.
