A Whyte | 19 September 2011

The JISC Research Integrity Conference on Sept 13th saw DCC's Director Kevin Ashley and Associate Director Liz Lyon join senior managers from across the HE sector for this event, whose main focus was the importance of good data management. A key topic for discussion was the practical steps and strategies researchers and institutions can take to satisfy new legal and policy demands and to manage risk. J

Coinciding with the event, DCC launched a new Briefing paper called Making the Case for Research Data Management. Written by Angus Whyte (DCC) and Jonathan Tedds (University of Leicester), the guide is intended to help managers in research institutions get support for their efforts to develop new services. It also gives a brief snapshot of JISC-led initiatives like the Managing Research Data programme and Shared Services and the Cloud.

You can read or download Making the Case in our Briefing Papers section. JISC has put together an impressive range of resources in its resources hub for the event.
