Directive 1999/93/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 December 1999 on a Community Framework for Electronic Signatures.
Description
The Community Framework for Electronic Signatures is the European legislation ensuring the ease of use, and legal recognition of electronic signatures, on the same footing as a handwritten ones. The legislation defines the qualities required for a legally admissable electronic signature, and defines the requirements for a qualified certificate.
