Objectives

CILIP’s objectives are to support: excellence in information and knowledge management; equality of access to information; and enable high professional standards for information services.

Areas of Activity

CILIP represents the information profession to the media, government and decision makers while practically supporting the careers of their membership.

Membership

Membership of the CILIP is by subscription and has both institutional and personal members. Personal members who have completed a CILIP approved university course can join as Associate Members and are eligible to work towards Chartership. Other professionals can join as Affiliate Members.
