Objectives
The National Council on Archives is an umbrella group, for major UK bodies and organisations concerned with all aspects of archive and records administration. It which aims to act as a common voice on matters of mutual concern.
Areas of Activity
The National Council on Archives aims to:
- Raise awareness on matters of current concern to the archives field
- Assist the work of the The National Archives and The Museums, Archives and Libraries Council
- Encourage and support educational activities which raise awareness of archives
- Lobby for funding and provide advice on the allocation of these.
- Define and achieve minimum standards for archive repositories
- Examine and improve current archive acquisition policies
- Encourage initiatives to improve or advance the cause of archive services.
Membership
NCA is a membership organisation. Membership is made up of relevant UK archives and records organisations.
