New DCC web site
Welcome to the all-new Digital Curation Centre website!
It’s been a long time coming and hasn’t been done for several years, but now feels like the right time for a refresh with our growing team and increasing international engagements through our dedicated consultancy, trainings and project-focussed work. Moreover, the past couple of years has seen the passing of the 10th birthday for our data curation lifecycle model and the 10th birthday for DMPonline and this is an ideal opportunity to move things forward. Building on 16 years of expertise, we want to make the new DCC website a showcase for all things RDM and Open Research related, and we welcome enquiries and engagement from the community - wherever you are!
The new design is a complete overhaul of the old website and, as well as giving a new look and feel, allowed us to take stock of what should be kept and what needed to go. Navigation has been simplified and is now done through a left-hand menu, with new headings. We hope that the information that is important to you will be easier to find.
The menu lists our core services and activities. Under Services you will find information on our consultancy and training packages, DMPonline and other tools. Research lists all the projects we are currently involved in. We have also started a new Publictions section to make it easier to distinguish between our Research, peer-reviewed publications and generic Guidance.
DMPonline has grown from strength to strength and this is now reflected by it having its own dedicated pages, including a newsletter for at the user community.
Keep up with current developments at the DCC through the recently revamped Pipeline, the DCC’s newsletter, while learn about the research based work that the DCC is part of from the projects page. We will be in touch to invite you to contribute to our blog channel, which was intended for the community. If you'd like to contribute, please come forward.
This year was the 15th anniversary of the International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC), the DCC’s own conference that brings together a diverse community annually, and you’ll be able to find out all about it in its listing as well as the smaller scale Research Data Management Forum (RDMF).
Finally, there is a new heading labelled as 'Information for' which is intended as a shortcut for visitors to the appropriate content they may be looking for based on their own backgrounds. This will allow easier navigation of the website since there are many resources that may overlap or that are disparate and yet still relevant.
We hope you like the new website and find your way around it more easily! We value your feedback so please let us know what you think of the new website here. Moreover, there will be minor changes and improvements to come in the near future, so keep us bookmarked and we’ll keep you informed of new changes!
